Issue Tracking

HBANC tracks issues that affect Bay Area home building in order to keep our members tuned in to the actions of local jurisdictions, and to ensure that our industry - and our members - has a level, fair playing field. With so many small yet influential anti-housing groups calling the Bay Area home, we need to pay close attention to fee hikes, growth controls, frivolous and abusive lawsuits, and excessive environmental regulations.

The Tuesday Report

To keep HBANC members fully apprised of the latest and most important information affecting homebuilding in the Bay Area, your Governmental Affairs department prepares a weekly e-mail report called the Tuesday Report. The Tuesday Report provides tracking updates on key issues. To begin receiving the Tuesday Report, sign up here bglover@hbanc.org.

CBIA bill tracking

Every year, the California Building Industry Association (CBIA) tracks hundreds of pieces of legislation that impact California's homebuilding industry in one way or another. The official positions of CBIA on these measures are designed to encourage lawmakers to decide on good public policies for homebuilding and defeat bad ones.

To view the bills CBIA is currently following for the 2009-2010 legislative session click here.
